At 19 years old, Alice has gained a reputation for her acrylic paintings featuring bags and bowls of confectionery, dessert foods, and sets of take-away coffee cups. Using acrylics as her main media, she is able to create hyper-realistic paintings that feature the use of light, shadow and interesting perspective for an ultimate effect.
Since commencing painting 7 years ago, Alice’s artwork has met much success. She has already won a number of awards, including the Otago Art Society’s ‘Youth Art Award’ in 2012 and ‘People’s Choice $1,000 Award’ at Wanaka’s annual Aspiring Art Prize exhibition in 2016, and again in 2017. She has held two very successful solo exhibitions and has also featured in a number of group shows at Gallery 33. She has also been an invited Guest Emerging Artist in various shows around the South Island where her works are frequently exhibited.
