'Over the years I have had many varied vocations mostly requiring very high levels of dexterity and original design concepts. I have been a manufacturing jeweller, patternmaker, boat building and detailing, D.I.E designer using C.A.D C.A.M. My wife and I moved to the South Island for a lifestyle change. This island being the home of pounamu (Jade) rekindled my interest in this stone.
I designed and made a diamond saw combination grinder, and acquired some small pieces of jade and processed to learn about the grain and nature of the stone. The pieces I made were well accepted which encouraged me to progress further.
My preference is to carve contemporary or very stylish pieces. I love the warm and velvet feel of Pounamu and its deep spiritual presence and I hope it brings you to the same feelings of peace and tranquility.'
